A. Manufacturers: In accordance with the
specified requirements, provide products from one of the
following manufacturers.
- Ceco Door Products Sight Light™ Exit Signage
- CURRIES Company
- Fleming
B. Egress Openings - Where indicated on the
door schedule,
floor proximity exit signage for hollow metal doors used in
locations of egress shall be the Sight Light™ Egress
Marking system.
- Floor proximity exit signs shall be located on the lower
half of door surface as indicated on door schedule.
- Visual Performance: Photoluminescent exit signs shall
be tested and listed by a recognized independent testing
laboratory to the requirements of UL 924 for 30.48 m (100
feet) legible viewing distance after 90 minutes.
- Photoluminescent exit signs shall be a minimum of 13”
wide x 8” tall x .070 mil thick.
- Stenciled lettering shall be in accordance with NFPA
101 with or without directional chevrons as indicated
on drawings. The word “EXIT” shall be in plainly
legible letters not less than 6 inches (152 mm) tall.
- Signs must be mounted in extruded aluminum frames applied
to door surface.
- Where used on labeled openings, signs must be tested
and mounted in compliance with UL 10B and UL 10C.
- A minimum of 5 foot-candle external unfiltered fluorescent
illumination must be present on the face of the photoluminescent
material at all times of building occupancy.
