Photoluminescent Egress Frame Assemblies
A. Egress Openings - Where indicated on
the Door Schedule, frames used in locations of egress shall
utilize a LiteGuide™ photoluminescent marking system.
Reference jamb and head details for profiles required.
- Frame profile must have a shadow-box frame design for
installation of rigid photoluminescent marking material.
- Photoluminescent materials used for all products specified
herein shall be a luminous yellow strontium aluminate
based material. The use of radioactive materials or zinc
sulfide materials is prohibited.
- Photoluminescent materials are to be supplied for field
installation after finish painting, with supplied adhesive
backing. Materials shall extend the entire perimeter of
the frame face and be sized to fit frame reveal.
- A minimum of 5 foot-candle external unfiltered fluorescent
illumination must be present on the face of the photoluminescent
material at all times of building occupancy.
